About Us
The Deer Park Fire Department is located approximately 50 minutes east of New York City. We are 4 ½ square miles in size comprised of 60% residential dwellings and 40% industrial and commercial buildings. We respond to approximately 3,000 calls for help each year for fire and medical emergencies combined. Running through our response area is the Mainline of the Long Island Railroad Ronkonkoma Branch and Route 231 (Deer Park Avenue) – a four lane State Road. Our Department consists of approximately 120 active members, both male and female. We are a combination department meaning that we have a career emergency medical staff of advanced life support providers that work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; in addition to our volunteer firefighters and emergency medical service providers.
