With strong winds, heavy rain and the potential for flooding expected across our area, the Deer Park Fire Department reminds everyone to take a few simple precautions before the storm arrives. π§οΈπ¨
Secure outdoor furniture and other loose items, charge your phones and flashlights, and be prepared for possible power outages. Never drive through flooded roadways and always stay clear of downed trees, wires and utility lines.
Please use caution, check on your neighbors, and stay informed as conditions develop.
π The Deer Park Fire Department is ready to respond when our community needs us.
Unfortunately, our Deer Park Engine Company 2 Fall Craft Fair on September 26th has been cancelled due to the weather. π§οΈπ
A huge THANK YOU to all of our vendors, supporters, and everyone who planned on coming out. Your continued support of Engine Company 2 and our community means so much to us. β€οΈ

The Deer Park Fire Department proudly congratulates our own Ex-Captain Ken Bradbury and recognizes a lifetime of dedication to the fire service.
Capt. Bradbury joined Deer Parkβs Ladder Company 4 in May of 1973 and went on to serve as Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and Captain. Throughout the years, Ken has continued to give his time and experience to our department, serving in numerous roles including Public Information Officer, Incident Safety Officer and President of the Ex-Captains Association.
Beyond Deer Park, Ken has remained a familiar face throughout the Suffolk County fire service, including his longtime involvement with the Suffolk County Drill Team Captains and nearly two decades documenting the fire service through his photography.
Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. Weβre proud to call you one of our own and even prouder to have you as part of the Deer Park Fire Department family. Thank you for more than five decades of friendship, leadership and service. Congratulations, Cap! ππβ€οΈ ... See MoreSee Less
25 Years Later - Honoring Their Sacrifice. πΊπΈ
The Deer Park Fire Department is proud of our own Firefighter Eric Helm, who participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Retro Fitness in Deer Park on September 11th, raising over $500 for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in honor of the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
Wearing his turnout gear and SCBA, Eric climbed 110 stories on the StairMaster, representing the 110 floors firefighters climbed inside the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. With every step, he honored those who continued upward into unimaginable danger to save others.
Eric wasnβt even born when the attacks of September 11th took place. Yet 25 years later, he chose to honor a generation of firefighters he never had the opportunity to know, those who ran toward the danger when others were running away.
Firefighting is in his blood, and remembering those who came before him is part of carrying that tradition forward.
Eric, your DPFD family is proud of you. Thank you for honoring their sacrifice and helping ensure we βNever Forgetβ. πΊπΈπ
Twenty-five years ago today, our nation changed forever.
The Deer Park Fire Department remembers the lives lost on September 11, 2001, including the 343 members of the FDNY who made the ultimate sacrifice and the members of our own Deer Park community who never came home.
We also remember the first responders who answered the call that morning and those we have lost in the years since from 9/11-related illnesses.
Twenty-five years later, our promise remains the same.
A message from Chief of Department Robert J. Macaluso to our Deer Park community as we prepare for the approaching storm.
